Home for the Summer

Well I am back home for the summer… I came back home Wednesday afternoon… It is nice to be back home, a change of pace… I started work on the following day as Michael offered some time to help set up WCUSA… So as soon as I arrived at 830, I was put on cleaning duty as we were all informed that Mr. Busch would be touring the park that day ( he ended up touring on Friday as he did not feel well on Thursday )… so I helped clean up the offices and the server room… Afterwards we all headed over to WCUSA to get it ready for the season which begins this Sunday, today…

WCUSA has made some great improvements during the off season. The main gate area has been completely rearranged to allow better guest flow. The main gate booths are no longer. They have been replaced by an expanded guest relations. GR has been remodeled to include a total of 8 windows all in a row in one building which will make supporting the cashiers much easier. no more tiny, 2 person max booths… those were fun to work in with two cashiers… Both parks also have new turnstiles which do not have to be manned to operate… guests scan their own tickets and the hand-e-scans have been replaced with single finger biometrics systems which should be much easier for guests to use…

Also got to ride Griffon Thursday evening ( in the rain )… It was AWESOME… unfortunately we got stuck in the back row ( they assign you to a row as you come into the queue house ) but even the back row is still awesome… the drops are amazing and the immelmans are pretty cool too… it rides just as smooth as Apollo’s Chariot… I cant wait to ride it again, especially in the front row… Might have to go up to the park some evening when attendance is low and ride it over and over again w/ greg or something…

Friday I also went up to work and did the green tag process with Douglas to get used to doing it all again and learn the new turnstile system… fairly quiet day… had barbeque chicken and some cheesecake for lunch… good ole BGW ( or BGE as Angelica says ) lunch…

Saturday Mom and I left to go back up to school to obtain the rest of my stuff, mostly computers and hockey equipment, as well as do a thorough cleaning… we left around 9 and got there around 1… Erin met us at the apartment and hung out… Erin and I went and got some Gumby’s pizza since I wont be able to have that again all summer… We had Gumby’s pizza like at least 5 times the past 2 weeks… I highly recommend it, especially the pokey stix, very good…. Pepperoni rolls are good to, but only get those on Wednesday when they are 50 cents each… Also paid rent while I was up there… After lunch we started some serious cleaning and packing… we cleaned the bathroom, kitchen, my room and the hallway, and the living room… also packed the van in there too… all in all we ended up not leaving till around 915 or so… I am writing this post as we drive home…

I do not work again until next weekend; I open BGW with Ross I believe… Got a few things to take care of next week… need to get my car inspected, oil changed, and the passenger SRS issue resolved… Also need to get my new hockey skates sharpened and baked if possible… Also need to look at getting a one piece composite hockey stick… There is a hockey shop in Chesapeake that I might travel too sometime this week, need to call and find out their hours… maybe even do a little skating… Need to get in touch with Wagner and figure out what we are going to do about playing ice hockey this summer…

Other than that, not too much else going on… just hanging out at home… watching the Stanley Cup Playoffs as usual… hanging out with Tracey as well…

I am out of here, later….
J!
