This weekend turned out pretty good… Wagner found this shaded pond off of Glade Rd which is really nice… the ice there is pretty thick, about 8 to 10 inches… and there is a nice row of pine trees which help keep it shaded…

So we went out on saturday and passed the puck around a bit… i didn’t have skates at the time so i just pretty much stood in one place trying not to fall which i did once… it was fun.. first time every playing with a puck on ice… it is definitely a lot different that roller hockey… the puck moves a lot faster and there is obviously less friction than on concrete… it is a lot of fun…

After playing hockey on saturday we went back to Wagner’s apartment where he has NHL center ice, which is awesome btw, and watched the penguins/maple leafs game which the penguins won… they play the blackhawks on wednesday which is wagners favorite team, so i will be over there watching some hockey and crosby make some awesome passes…

One of Wagner’s roommates was at home this weekend and was able to stop at play it again sports and pick up some ice skates for himself and me… so today we went out there and i was able to skate some… ice skating is something I definitely need some practice at… i can almost sorta stop… the skates that i have are a bit small so i think if i had more comfortable skates i would be good to go… during the summer i am going to go to the iceplex and try and skate some… get a little practice in for next winter if the pond freezes over again… apparently this pond hasnt frozen over in about 5 years… there was this older guy there and his son taking care of the ice on saturday… we helped him fill in some of the cracks and what not… so i now know how to maintain and create a pond hockey rink…

AFter hockey today i just came back and did some homework and am now about to go take a shower and get some sleep… good night…

Not much going on today…

Drove to the post office yesterday… it was kind of weird driving after no driving for a few days… but its just like riding a bike…

Drove to class today… One thing VT didn’t do well was plowing the parking lots… they could have done a much better job at this… They only plowed the lanes and not the parking spaces which could prove to be hazardous as people get in and out of their cars and walk between cars…

Not much going on this weekend… Hockey season starts on Sunday here… I don’t think we play until Tuesday though…

Penguins are doing well… They swept the Philadelphia Flyers last night… going 7-0 against them… first time Pittsburgh has ever done that while the flyers have done it to use twice… With last nights win that moves us into the fourth spot in the eastern conference… hopefully we can maintain home ice advantage for the playoffs… Crosby is still leading the NHL in points and assists… should be a good season… Might go see the penguins in action on March 2nd, although not sure yet as that is the Friday before spring break…

well i need to get going to stat… later…

The BT was a bit crowded today… more than before… but that is pretty much typical for Foxridge during the busy times of the day… Still it wasn’t bad at all… So the first week of testing riding the BT turned out pretty successful… I think I am going to continue to ride the BT Tuesday through Thursday and only drive to class on Monday and Friday… Hopefully that will help cut down on gas usage as well as un-needed miles on the car…

This weekend I am going to try and knock out one of the projects I have as well as some homework and what not… and maybe even try to work on the other 2 projects… should be interesting to see how it goes…

The RHCVT hockey season was delayed until this weekend due to all of the snow and what not… So I might have to go out to the rink on Friday to shovel some snow off of the ring… or probably put down some salt on the icy areas… hopefully we can play this weekend… have not played in about a week or so…

well I need to head to class… later…

The wireless APs in TORG 3100 suck…

They love to drop your connection about every 1 or 2 minutes… if you are lucky you can go about 5 minutes…

Hopefully this will get fixed sometime soon… and hopefully this post makes it to the blog…

We got some good snow yesterday and over night… about 2 to 3 inches I would say… and I didn’t even know it was supposed to snow last night… the roads were pretty bad at first but this morning they were fairly clear… will be intersting if it all freezes tonight…

I took the bus again today… not crowded at all, but that was probably becuase thr tripper stopped and picked us up… so far the bus is looking like a decent option… plus I didn’t have to clean my car off this morning and wait for it to heat up…

As of today, I have 3 projects to be working on at the same time… they are all do in about 2 weeks or so… so it should be a busy next few weeks… lots of programming going on… plus I hopefully will be going to see Rachel next weekend… so if I go down there, I need to get as much done as possible ahead of time…

In addition to the homework above there is the continual on slaught of homework… which is not too bad… but still enough to keep me quite busy…

Other than the snow, not much else going on…

Oh we ordered our pool table for the apartment… should be here before spring break… I will be sure to take some pictures and share…

Cancel or allow?

I have decided to start taking the Blacksburg Transit (BT) at least 2 to 3 times a week… The main reason I am taking the BT is to cut down on fuel costs, even though my car is really fuel efficient, but it also helps cut down on the wear and tear on the car of the relatively short trips… I am planning on definitely riding the bus on Tuesday and Thursday as those two days are difficult to find parking on campus… Even though I can easily find parking at the VT Inn which is where I have been parking in the past, it takes about the same amount of time to just ride the bus… Riding the bus today was fairly painless… not crowded at all; I was able to easily find a seat… But I did get out of class early today… so we will see how it goes on Thursday… Another day I might take the bus is Wednesday as that is also a day when parking is difficult to find… So we will see…

Other than that, I caught up on some sleep this morning… got to sleep in until 10 30 or so…

Not much else going on…

RHCVT Hockey season starts tonight… should be an interesting season… hopefully highly competitive…
