Pool Table Update

Well the pool table is complete finally… today went a bit smoother than yesterday…

The next step was sanding all of the grout down and cleaning the slatron top of any dust… Then putting the felt on the table was a lot of fun… the glue they provided sometimes did not want to become tacky so it took a couple of tries especially along the edges… but the felt was fairly easy to stretch and attach… no major problems… While we were waiting for the glue to dry… we thought we should have come up with a better set-up DVD than the 1980’s version provided… it would have been pretty funny with all the problems we ran into…

After getting the felt on, the holes for the pockets needed to be cut and glued as well… Trav did most of these with the help of Val… putting the felt on took around an hour or so… at which time Trav and Val had to go to class and I decided to go play some pond hockey with Dave…

After getting back from pond hockey, I proceeded to install the rails and wait on trav to get back… The rails were easily attached… now the fun part was squaring up all of the rails… that took a bit of time as well… eventually we got the rails aligned and put the side panels on the table…

The side panels was the last major assembly required… All that was left were the pockets which needed to be nailed in place… as well as over corner and side join covers… Tyler helped with all those and it was quickly onto the first game of pool which I won… we played a few more games after…

We still need to get some more light on that side of the room… we are thinking of some kind of hanging light over the pool table to help with the shadows… so we need to work on that… other than that the pool table came out pretty good… I will post some pictures later tonight…

But i need to head to class… later…

J!
