update on theme

This is just a temp theme that i found while looking around on making my own theme… its minimal which i like… itll be somewhat similar to my final design…

but for right now i think its better than the default wordpress theme…

didnt get a chance to design theme CSS last night due to hockey and what not… I have to officer tonight so i doubt i will get a chance to work on it tonight… tomorrow i want to finish all of my homework before the game so i doubt i will have time tomorrow… maybe sometime next week… we will see…

If for some reason you are highly against this theme just let me know and i can change it back…

J!

quick side note…

i really need to get a new theme and what not set up on this blog… the default theme is getting quite old…

i have a theme in my head, just need to code up some CSS for the layout and style and then integrate that into wordpress… maybe if i have time later tonight, ill atleast code up the CSS and get test page going to display the CSS… if i get that done, ill post it on here for all to see…

anways, back to class…

a quick update…

Not much has been going on lately… been kinda quite and relaxing the past few days… havent had too much work to do regarding school which has been nice after the past 2 weeks…. but this is just a lull in the storm… im trying to get all of my homework for this week and next monday and tuesday done this week as i may be going to the University of Tennessee this weekend to visit Rachel who i havent seen in about 5 years since we moved from Millington back to Newport News… Then next week is when all the fun begins… I have a programming project where we get to add threads to our GUI ATM application… i believe it is due on the 4th of November.. then in about 3 weeks from today we have a digital design project due which is to design an asynchronous digital logic circuit which looks like a lot of fun ;) also throw in the misc homework assignments and what not… Engineering is not for the faint of heart and those who do not like to do that much work… but i am enjoying it….

We have a game this thursday against Clemson… should be an interesting game…

Submitted my course request for next semester… 6 classes… thats 2 more than i have had the past 2 semesters so i am going to have to get used to taking that many classes again… you can see what my schedule will look like if you view my calendar for the month of January… Below are the following classes i am taking next semester:

  • Large scale software design
  • Microprocessor system design
  • Intro to Data Structures and OO programming (CS 2605, a preq for tech electives i want to take)
  • Engineering economy
  • Technical Writing
  • Statistics for Engineers

Should be a fun semester… engineering econ, stat, and tech writing are not very hard classes, just somewhat time consuming… the two main classes next semester will be large scale software and microprocessor… so we will see how it goes…

well i am going to go to class, later…

my apologies

Sorry for not updating for so long…. Fall break was good, went home, hung out with friends, got a haircut and what not… a good relaxing weekend before the craziest week of school…

Upon returning from fall break, i have been non stop busy with projects and homework… Had to pull an all nighter and several late nights… but needless to say, everything got done on time and turned in…

this week is still pretty busy, i have 2 tests and a pretty lengthy homework assignment…

Course requests start tomorrow… im going to talk to the advisor tomorrow to make sure im on the right track as far as taking classes and planning out my senior year…. Some pretty awesome technical electives that i plan on taking like:

Computer and Network Security Fundamentals

Introduction to fundamental security principles and real-world applications of Internet and computer security. Topics covered in the course include legal and privacy issues, risk analysis, attack and intrusion detection concepts, system log analysis, intrusion detection and packet filtering techniques, computer security models, computer forensics, and distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks.

Network Application Design

Application program interface and network transport services including User Datagram Protocol and Transmission Control Protocol from the Internet protocol suite. Client-server organization and design of synchronous, asynchronous, and multithreaded client and server applications. Design, implementation, and testing techniques to improve robustness and performance. Design and implementation of servers and clients for standard Internet application protocols.

Wireless Networks and Mobile Systems

Multidisciplinary, project-oriented design course that considers aspects of wireless and mobile systems. Including wireless networks and link protocols, mobile networking including support for the Internet Protocol suite, mobile middleware, and mobile applications. Students complete multiple experiments and design projects.

Large-Scale Software Development for Engineering Systems

Large-scale software implementations of the hierarchy of engineering analysis, design, and decision evaluation. Computer-aided engineering programs with state-of-the-art computer tools and methods. Operator overloading, dynamic polymorphism, graphical user interfaces, generic programming, dynamic link libraries, and multiple threads.

Real-Time Systems

Introduction to real-time systems, real-time scheduling including multiprocessor scheduling, real-time operating systems (kernels), real-time communication, real-time programming languages, reliability and fault-tolerance, and real-time system requirements and design methods. Design, analysis, and implementation of real-time kernel mechanisms and real-time applications using kernels such as Linux and programming languages such as C (with POSIX primitives) and Ada 95.

So it should be an interesting and fun senior year…

Well i am going to go get some sleep, since this is the first night i can actually get some quality sleep in…
