RSS Feeds
RSS feeds have been around for awhile now however I never really realized how useful and powerful they are… What are RSS feeds you ask?
RSS is a family of web feed formats, specified in XML and used for Web syndication. RSS is used by (among other things) news websites, weblogs and podcasting. Web feeds provide web content or summaries of web content together with links to the full versions of the content, and other metadata. RSS in particular, delivers this information as an XML file called an RSS feed, webfeed, RSS stream, or RSS channel. In addition to facilitating syndication, web feeds allow a website’s frequent readers to track updates on the site using an aggregator.– Wikipedia
I recently stumbled upon a firefox extension called Sage which manages RSS feeds for you… I figured I would go ahead and give this RSS reader a try and see how I like it… And wow it has changed how I surf the web… It pretty much has reduced the amount of websites I have to check from like 30 to 0… I just check Sage and it tells me what sites have new articles posted and I can click on them to view them in the browser… A great time saver… If you have many blogs/news sites/any site that has an RSS feed to check and you like to check them frequently, RSS feeds and a RSS feed reader like Sage is definitely the way to go no doubt about it…
Download sage and subscribe to my RSS feed!
