My beyond TV server was having some trouble keeping acurate time… so i found a lil hack to force windows to synch the time every 12 hours or whatever time period you specify…
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Services\W32Time\
TimeProviders\NtpClient\SpecialPollInterval
Set SpecialPollInterval to however many seconds you want inbetween time syncs…

I put up a copy of GoogleX after it was taken down from google..
you can find it here.
Why i bring it up is that i put it up and completely forgot about it… then the other day i started looking at the logs of visitors and was surprised that there are an average of 30 page loads per day and total GoogleX gets more hits than my blog (1400 compared to 1300)… So someone out there must have bookmarked it and use it often…
I personally just use the Google Seach bar in Firefox so i dont use it very often…
just thought that was cool… later…

Well finally upgraded my beyondTV server to version 3.74… the last version before they released version 4.0…
Im holding out on paying the $40 for version 4, because the updates they added to it dont appeal to my needs right now, esp since i dont have any HDTV to record… Maybe in the future…
Another reason i am holding out on it is because of MythTV… which is a linux based PVR… which means FREE!
I want to partition my harddrive and install mythTv on it and see how it works out… And if it works out ok, i just may switch to it as my primiary PVR system…
Maybe this weekend or sometime after spring break which is only 1 week away…

Well this crazy busy week is finally over… Computer Org & Arch test went quite well as it was modeled after the practice test which was pretty easy, so i think i did quite well…
Got an 85 on my multivariable calculus test, which is curved up to an A…
The only big thing for next week is a Unix test, which shouldnt be too difficult since everything we have gone over i pretty much have known about/used…
Not much going on this weekend as of right now…
One thing ive been meaning to do is build a Windows installer DVD which will include fully updated/slipstreamed/automated install of Windows XP Pro, maybe XP home too, Windows 2000 Pro, Windows 98, Windows 2003 server, and probably include the ultimate boot CD, oh and Windows PE (bart)… So i might get around to doing that this weekend…
Also want to play around with creating a new theme for the blog… The default one is quite boring and shows that im too lazy to find a new theme or write my own…. So im going to create my simple, plain, easy going theme… I have a few ideas floating around in my head so if you have some problems viewing the blog check back in an hour or something because i am probably playing around with the theme…
Well i am going to go finish watching Digital Life TV… Later…

2 tests down, 1 left tomorrow morning…
Multivariable Calculus went quite well, atleast i think so…
Discrete Math went well as well…
All i have left is circuits homework, lab-in-a-box, and computer organization and architecture…
Got a 95 on my circuits test last friday… which is pretty good considering he drops the lowest test grade and the other 2 tests are supposed to be pretty hard…
Played hockey last night… Havent played in like 3 years so i was a lil rusty and sore… from not skating in 3 years to skating for 2 hours, it killed my back and my feet… but it was fun… need to get back in shape though…
Well i think i am going to go work on the lab-in-a-box…

Its going to be a long week ahead… 3 tests and some misc homework… Multi var calc is tomorrow, discrete is wed, and comp org and arch is thursday… and i have circuits homework and lab in a box…
So this will be the busiest week since ive been back from winter break…
So tonight ill be studying for Multivariable calc which entails me doing all the homework that i never did (not required but helpful)… also need to go over some equations and stuff… shouldnt be too hard of a test, so im not to worried about it…
Out of the 3 tests, computer org should be the hardest of the 3…
The circuits test on friday went well… I felt confident with all my answers so hopefully i get a decent grade…
The weekend was good, just hung out here with katie and everyone, watched movies, had a good time…
Got a wee bit of snow this morning… just a dusting not much…
new TWiT and diggnation are out… go download and listen/watch…
Not much else going on, thinking about starting to study…
Later,
–Jason
