Well the rest of the thanksgiving break went quite well…

Thanksgiving dinner was very very delicious as were the left overs The stuffing and turkey was some of the best ive ever tasted…

Thanksgiving night, for some unknown reason, all of the firealarms went off @ 3:15 AM… felt like i was back in the dorm and someone decided to pull the firealarm for fun… Atleast we didnt have to go outside in the snow… but we got them shutoff and atleast i was able to fall back asleep until about 9:45… and i wasnt the last person up which is quite unusual…

Thursday i converted 3 or 4 remotes down to basically 1 for the nice home theather setup that my aunt and uncle have… Let me tell you HD TV is AMAZING… If you havent seen the quality of HDTV on a nice widescreen plasma TV, well let me tell you… its AMAZINGly highly detailed… HDTV is highly recommended for all those that have HD TV ready TVs… like ours…

On black friday i did not go out… There were no really good deals that appealed to me… plus the crowds and fighting to get what you want plus waiting in hour long lines does not appeal to me…

Sat morning i got up around 7 and left my aunts house around 8:30 or so… Traffic was not that bad until i hit where 81 and 64 combine… and it was slow going from there but not that bad… Got back around 2:15 or so and unpacked all my stuff…

Walter and Kim came up for the UNC game this weekend and they stopped in to see the apt and say hey… Went to the game which was really good… we won 30 to 3… so we are officiall ACC Coastal Division Champions and will be going to the ACC championship game this weekend in Jacksonville, FL… I believe we are playing FL state… I feel pretty confident about that match up…

Sunday was spent working on the project report… which i finished but he gave an extension to wednesday… but i went ahead and turned it in…

Lots of work the next 2 weeks… 3 or so more projects, 1 paper, 1 test, and 4 exams and a few homeworks… cant wait to get this semester over with and home for a month…

Well class is almost over, so im gonna go…

Well I havent posted since ive been on break so i thought i would take the time to do so right now while im sitting at my Aunt’s awesome house watching CSI on a plasma screen with surround sound… very nice setup here, something similar will be in my house… Ill take some pictures and post them up later….

Anyways break started on friday when i drove home.. the drive sucked… took 1.5 hours to get to roanoke when it should have only taken 0.5 hours so i didnt get back to newport news until an hour late… When i got back in town i met the rest of the family at Cheeseburger in Paradise where we ate dinner, highly recommended, great burgers… After dinner i went home and unpacked, settled in and passed out since i was so tired…

saturday, what did i do saturday?

Sunday I went up to W&M and hung out with Angelica which was awesome, watched TV, listened to some music, and fell asleep there… Woke up the next day she went to class and i went home…

Monday, took a shower and headed up to Busch Gardens for lunch with the IT guys, went to Peking, another highly recomended restaurant… AFter lunch we went back and i went to HR to reapply for next season.. I am officially an Octoberfest Area Host! well atleast until i apply for the IT position again.. After HR i went up and said goodbye to everyone and headed back home and ate dinner and hung out…

Tuesday i got up and went to walmart to oil and oil filter for my car, came back home and changed the oil/filter on my car as well as repaired the right front fender well plastic gaurd that was hanging down, so there is no longer orange duct tape holding it up… after finishing the car maintenance i went next door and got my haircut in exchange for some computer help… After haircut i went and took a shower and ate dinner… was going to hang out with angelica but her mom wouldnt let her go out at 7:30 :p so i just hung out at home and talked to her online while i packed some….

Wednesday, today, packed my car up with everything and hit the road around 10AM… traffic really wasnt that bad… never got stuck in any traffic due to accidents, the only time we got stuck was due to large volume of traffic and poorly timed traffic lights going through a small town, i believe it was in West Va, go figure… anyways we got here, my aunts, around 5pm, pretty good time considering we stoped for lunch and gas a couple of times… as soon as we got here is started snowing pretty heavily… first real snow for me of this winter season… the flurries earlier dont really count…. there is about an inch or so of snow on the ground right now… good packing snow to for a snowball fight… So ive been here since then… thankfully they have high speed internet with a wireless router i dont know what i would do without internet!! Oh also have EV-DO accesss here which is strange because we are almost on the edge of no where and i dont have it anywhere at home or school… cant really do much with it tho, apps download a lil faster

Plan is to head back to VT on saturday morning early. leave between 5 and 6… game isnt until 7:45pm so i have plenty of time to get back…

As far as break assingments, 1 project out of 2 is pretty much completed, just need to write a report and then code the other project… also have a homework assignment to do which hopefully wont take long but i cant do until i get back becuase i forgot my book at school…

hmm about $300 for a trip to Tenn to see Jennifer? anyone want to donate to the trip fund?

Got my Bluetooth headset today… Its charging right now so i will have to let you know how it works out later…

Also got a belt clip for my phone as well… We will see how long this one lasts since im notorious for breaking my cellphone clips… I broke 4 on my last phone until i gave up and just kept it in my pocket…

The flash for the camera also works really well for a flashlight if your ever in need of one…

Set up a MMS server for my cellphone to send my pictures that i take to and have it automatically show up on the server… However i am having some issues with it not communicating a success submission even if the server gets the message… Also having issues with the imaging libraries required for the server… I think once i move my webserver over to Ubuntu, these dependencies should be resolved… hopefully… I sent a couple test message the other night, im waiting to see if they show up on the bill, they shouldnt but just in case… The whole purpose of this server is to bypass Verizons $0.25 charge per picture sent…

Not much going on lately, Going over to mikes to hang out tonight since we havent been over to hang out this semester really… Friday i have a test in Differential Equations and then ill prob grab some lunch and head on home assuming we have no quiz in Intro to CpE… I have like $100 on the meal plan left i need to blow before the end of the semester since i am going with dining dollars next sememster as it may be a lot cheaper than buying the minor flex… Im sure ill find something to buy…. They usually sell off a lot of stuff before christmas break…

Just recieved my Ubuntu CDs today in the mail. Ubuntu means “humanity to others”… And to continue the efforts of ubuntu, if anyone wants a copy let me know, its FREE… yes FREE!

So now i have to reformat my laptop (it needs it anyways…) and get a windows partition going and a Ubuntu partition going… Going to need linux anyways since we take intro to unix next semester… wee!

anyways, we havent played raquetball in along time since weve been so freaking busy with school and stuff so we are going tonight… its like the first time in 3 or so weeks….

This friday we get out for thanksgiving break… cant wait to get home and take a break off from school.. sike, i will have 2 projects to work on over break… Gonna head up to ol’ busch gardens and reapply next year as a sweeper! Well atleast until i have my interview for the IT position again… Last time they had me a broom and bucket waiting in the office with my name on it when i got there… Then ill prob stop in the offices for a chat and some lunch somewhere…

I owe Angelica a date, so we will see how that goes, hopefully well…

Gotta hang out with Greg and get him some Ubuntu for his wicked LCD monitor that he has… man that would be a killer dual monitor setup… i envy your monitor!

Then its off to my aunts house in PA for thanksgiving on wednesday.. then friday i leave to come back here for the North Carolina game on saturday and on sunday ill probably finish all of my projects…

Well i just finished the 4 bit processor and surprise surprise it WORKS!

Pretty good picture quality for a camera phone if you ask me… This picture is taken at the highest resolution possible on a 1.3 megapixel camera…
NOTE: the blog has shrunk the actual size of the photo, the acutal resolution is 1280 x 1024..

Got my new cell phone yesterday, the motorola E815… Its a pretty sweet phone, nice camera, bluetooth, mp3 player, etc… Had to jump through hoops to get this thing activated but i finally did yesterday and it has been working great so far…

I also ordered a data cable and motorola phone tools so i could manage my phone via the computer as well as make a few hacks to the phone

I spent about an hour or so putting all of my contacts back into the phone. Nice thing was i did it all from my computers keyboard vs the phone which made it go by a lot faster…

After i got all of my contacts put on i decided to do a few seem edits, which is basically changing the phones settings that you cant change just using the phone… So i hooked the phone up and changed a total of like 3 bits and now my phone has even better features I can now transfer files back and forth from my laptop to my cellphone in my pocket… This allows me to transfer pictures i take on the phone to my laptop which makes the camera phone much more useable… also i can make my own ringtones and send them to my phone as well as send any mp3s i want to listen to, to the phone… also if i can transfer any movies back and forth… The other hack i did allows me to transfer files b/t the flash card and the phone internal memory in case i ever get a flash card and such… Overall i really like the new phone and its many features…

I think my next hack will be changing the pix place server that cost 0.25$ to send a picture to my own server and maybe try and set up a website where my pictures that i take will automatically show up for all to see… Kind of a cool idea, gotta see if i can set the server up on my old laptop or not.. ill have to investigate that latter tonight…

Next thing i have to do is get my bluetooth headset and ill be set… Waiting to hear back from Walter to see what kind of deal he can get me since he gets a discount through his job… With the headset i can make a phone call without ever touching my cellphone and can just leave it in my pocket or holster… all i have to is say call or say the actual number…

Well now that you all know that the next phone you should get is an E815, I will talk to you all later, going to go read up all the news ive been missing…

Well this weekend was quite disappointing… Miami came into our own house and crushed us… 27-7… the 6 turnovers, 4 of which were consecutive in the second half and one of which was a turnover in our endzone, killed us… We had like 1 nice drive the entire game and that was when we scored…

but on the upside…

Talked to my friend Jenn from back in TN for the first time in like forever… It was nice talking to her again and remincing about old times… the walks and hangin out at the playground…

Angelica has been hooking me up with a lot of great songs lately some yellowcard, the killerss, the starting line, weezer, alkaline trio, elfant, better than ezra, the walkman, and the postal service… Thanks :p

Well i started wiring my circuit board, but have since put it on hold due to the test tomorrow in the same class… so ive been studying on and off all day… nice thing is that we only have 1 class tomorrow… the 2 others were cancelled, thank you conferences that invite my professors We still have an in class assingment to do tomorrow for one of the classes but that shouldnt be to hard… I plan on finishing my 4 bit processor tomorrow and going to get it validated that night as well… and maybe starting on the report… Also gotta focus on the presentation for Engineering professionalism since its worth a nice chunk of our grade…
